"Westfields Sports excels in the HSC".
2007 has not only been an extremely successful year on the sporting field for Westfields Sports, their recent HSC were also
exceptional.
Most impressive were Erica Sorn and Samanta Lee who both made the NSW Distinguished Achievers List for
achieving Band 6 results in all five of their subjects. Erica’s University Admission Index (UAI) was an outstanding 99.25
whilst Samantha’s was 98.55. In addition, John Nguyen achieved a UAI of 98.1 and Cameron Ennis 97.5. In total the
Westfields had 44 Band 6 results across a wide range of subjects.

Special mention must be made of Year 9 student Adam Mammoliti (Pictured) who sat the 2007 HSC in 2Unit Mathematics at
just 15 years of age. Adam’s exceptional ability has enabled him to be accelerated in mathematics, achieving his School
Certificate in year 8 last Year and now his HSC in Year 9. Adam has also had to overcome speech and language problems when
younger to show that with the right attitude and determination, anyone can overcome adversity to achieve their goals.
Adam commenced High School mathematics classes whilst in Year 4. He competed in national Mathematics Competitions and topped
both senior and junior levels. Adam is currently studying 3 unit and 4 unit Mathematics in preparation for the HSC 2008.
