"2009 tour of Italy".

Bellissima

Nineteen students, seven parents, Miss Zanet and Mr Rogers spent nineteen days in Italy at the end of Term 1.

This was an amazing experience for each traveller. We spent many hours on the bus with our bus driver Maurizio, travelling from place to place. The places we saw were incredible and memorable; Milano, Venice, Pisa, Siena, Florence, Assisi, Sorrento, Pompeii, Capri and Rome. Every one of these places had its own history. From the Bridge of Sighs (Venice), The Leaning Tower of Pisa (Pisa), the Statue of David (Florence), the Tomb of Saint Francis of Assisi (Pisa), the beautiful coastal views of Sorrento and Capri, the spectacular view from the top of Mt Vesuvius, the remarkable history of ruins in Pompeii/Herculeum, cities buried by volcanic eruptions in AD79 and the endless history of Rome; the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican State and the spectacular works of Michel Angelo in the Sistine Chapel and one of Rome’s oldest domes, the Pantheon.

I would like to say a special thanks to Miss Zanet who has put all her time and effort to make this trip possible from each and everyone of us. All students, parents and teachers has a remarkerable time on this trip.
