To Face The Kiwis
Story By: Aaron Parnell
Slaughtering the Kiwis in Schoolboy cricket has become the main objective of 40 students from Westfields Sports High School.

The boys, three teachers and 20 supporters will tour New Zealand for 10 days in October where they will play a host of schools in the Christchurch area.

The school boys will hold a fund raiser at the school grounds in Hamilton Street on June 24th to cover some of th $1100 cost to their parents.

A second fundraiser in the form of a dinner/dance, will be held over the coming months.

"We've wanted to take a cricket team on tour for more tham three years now," said deputy principal Rod Cherry.

"We were originally going to take them to the Northern Territory but organising that proved more difficult than we imagined.

"This tour will be the first of a number of tours the school will have planned for sportsmen at the school.
