Westfields Sports cricketers have returned fropm their tour of
New Zealand.
Part of the program developed with the local school and two New Zealand school's, St Andrews
College and Christchurch Boys High, the three cricket teams spent 10 days in New Zealand with
coach Ian Gill, playing their favorite sport.
The program coordinated by deputy principal Rod Cherry, included playing cricket against New
Zealand teams, sight seeing and adventures.
The contingent of 65 people including parents, officials and players.
Kurt Minnard, a year 12 student, said he enjoyed the tour. "It was a good opportunity to
travel overseas to play a sport you love." He said.
"The hospitality shown by the other schools was excellent."
Kurt Simon, a year 8 student, said "The standard of cricket was good. They played like a team all the time."
Westfields Sports High School is now planning a tour to England in 2004.
