RL Star is streets ahead
Ipswich City Council is naming a street in honour of 18-year-old rugby league winger and former Westfields Sports High
School student, Israel Folau, who scored two test tries in his Test debut yesterday.
Council planning chairman Paul Tully said a street in Goodna would be named after Folau, who helped Australia win the Test
against New Zealand 58-0. Folau was born in NSW but played junior rugby league for Goodna.
“This will serve as a reminder to all the kids in the local area of what you can achieve with effort and determination,”
Mr Tully said.
Folau scored 21 tries this year for premiers Melbourne Storm.
