| SHE just missed out on the Commonwealth Games team, but Sarah Kallu remains a champion in Fairfield. Sarah, 15-year-old student from Westfields Sports High School, finished fourth in the 1500m freestyle finals with time of 17min 07.66sec, and 15th in the 200m butterfly at 2:20.98. "Got to take 26 seconds off the freestyle," she said. "But i'm not disappointed with the 1500m freestyle. I was happy with it. "With the 200m butterfly, I was happy with that as well.." Sarah began swimming competitively at the age of 11 years with Smithfield Swimming Association. She still swims under that banner. Sarah is now coached by Bruce Edmunds.
