Marconi’s Amazing Coach,

He’s 38 years old and Head of Mathematics at Sydney’s selective Sports High School by day. By night he is Marconi’s amazing
Youth team coach, which all adds up to a very busy hectic schedule.
In his younger days, this strapping lad was an unyielding right full-back with Sydney City, Sydney Olympic, Sydney united
and Parramatta Power in the now defunct NSL.
Whilst powerful in defence, he was a dangerous overlapping fullback as well and would unleash long thunderous diagonal
crosses to his eagerly awaiting hungry strikers.
Three years ago, as a novice, he climbed into the coaching ranks at Marconi when the Clubs Directors installed him to take
over the Youth Team in the NSW Premier League.
A Mathematics Master by day and a calculating coach by night, in the last three consecutive years he has reeled off an
amazing “Treble Double” by winning the NSW Premier Youth Championship, coupled with all three respective Grand Finals for
Marconi.
What an incredible manner to launch ones coaching career.
But as the Man on TV says….”There’s more…much more…”
Towards the end of last season, this amazing successful Youth coach was upgraded by Marconi’s Directors to take over the
struggling senior squad.
Always calculating and possessing a huge passion for encouraging youth, in Marconi’s “away clash” with Sydney Olympic, this
novice coach upgraded no less than 10 of his youth team players into the First Team Squad.
The result……Marconi 0-2.
Who is the Mathematical Soccer coaching genius?
The name is Barrett.
