AT just 16-years-old, soccer sensation Scott Jamieson has the world at his feet.
The Westfields midfielder heads off to England in February after signing an amateur contract with
Bolton Wanderers.
The rare opportunity came about when Bolton Wanderers Academy director Chris Sulley visited the
school earlier this year and was so impressed with Scott that he invited him to trial with the club.
"It's always been a dream of mine," Scott said. "To play in the English Premier League, it's been
something I've always wanted to do. I'm just happy to be going over there.
The three week trial was a big shock to the system for the shadow Australian Schoolboy player.
"It was mind blowing," Scott said.
"It's a new experience with different techniques. It was much harder training and game wise."
Scott will combine his contract with schooling and has set high goals for the future.
"I hope to get a professional contract after three years and eventually break into the first
team for Bolton Wanderers," he said.
The Kings Langley teenager has played soccer for 12 years and is part of the under 20s squad for
Blacktown Demons in the NSW Premier League.
Westfields Sports co-ordinator Trevor Morgan believed Scott was ready to take the big
step overseas.
"When Scott came to us in year 7, he was our first choice," Morgan said.
"In year 8, he had a few broken bones but he came back to school with a different attitude in
year 9. In one year he played in the school under-15s Puma Cup and senior sides and played first
grade for the Blacktown Demons.
"In the past year, he's matured and become a more influential player, organising players on the
park who are older than him. He will be involved in the highest level of football under a
professional set-up. It was time for him to go."
