![]() James Wesolowski: The Young Socceroo unfortunately had his leg broken bt Bobo Balde during the Leicester City match against Celtic. Leicester City boss Craig Levein had to be restrained after Celtic defender Bobo Balde's tackle left teenage midfielder and Young Socceroo James Wesolowski with a broken leg last Tuesday night. Balde's challenge left the 17-year-old writhing in agony just five minutes before the end of the first half in the goal- less friendly at the Wanderer's Stadium. Levein said: "James has broken his leg. He didn't break it though, it was broken for him. I'm really feeling for the kid at the moment and the break is in the shin - above the height of the ball. It also looks like it's going to have to be pinned. "It was inexperience which cost him because he has gone into a tackle which more experienced professionals would not have gone for, especially in a pre-season game. "When you've been a player for a few years you know challenges like that could end up with you being hurt. But he went in hard and fair, got there first and Balde got there second as the more experienced professional. As far as I'm aware, no-one from Celtic has apologised." Celtic counterpart Gordon Strachan tried to deflect criticism of Balde, saying: "Everybody has been emotional, what with the boy having a broken leg. We're all disappointed about that, but I think it's best we be careful about what we say. <7nbsp; "I knew it could have been a broken leg as soon as it happened so we wish the guy a quick recovery, but now we have to get on with it." |
