From the Principal's desk.
A big thank you to the 90+ parents who attended the
first meeting of the Westfields Sports Parents and
Citizens Association for 2005. It was great to see so
many parents showing such an interest in the
activities of our school. President Grace Turnbull
presented the senior members of the Student
Representative Council with their blazers. Captain
Jeffrey Skinner responded with a vote of thanks for
this now traditional gift. Plaques of appreciation
were presented to former President Desley Norvill and
former Vice-President Lyn Groves in recognition of
their years of dedicated support for our students and
staff.
The next meeting of the Parents and Citizens
Association will be on the 23rd March 2005 and will
include the Annual General Meeting and election of
office bearers for 2005. This meeting will be
preceded at 6.45 pm by a tour of the school which will
highlight the new facilities. Please join us.
A great deal of work is going into the preparation of
the school Annual Report, copies of which will be
available in the coming months.
Congratulations to staff and students involved in the
very successful school swimming carnival. Well done
to the participants and good luck for the South West
Sydney Area and State Carnivals.
It is time to establish the Westfields Sports Alumni
Association – an organization to connect past students
and teachers with present students and teachers in a
partnership, which will support an even brighter
future. Our Deputies Mr Cherry and Mrs Wilson will be
closely involved in setting up the Association and
distributing a newsletter each term.
I have spoken of the initiative relating to the
establishment of the Westfields Sports house to
accommodate students from country New South Wales,
other Australian states and overseas. If you have
knowledge of people from whom I could request
resources would you let me know?
Assistance is urgently required in the school canteen.
If you could help, I would like you to contact me on

important service.
