From the Principal's Desk
Last Wednesday, School Captains Anne & Rodney accompanied me to Smithfield RSL Sub-Branch to participate in the Battle for
Australia Ceremony. Our Captains laid a special wreath in memory of those who died in conflict.
On Tuesday 12th September, Her Excellency Marie Bashir AC CVO, Governor of NSW, will present Level 1 and 2 Awards to Year
12 students at a special assembly. The SRC will host the assembly. Parents of recipients are invited to attend the
presentation.
The NSW Department of Education has recently established a set of 'core rules' for student behaviour in all government
schools. These rules mirror guidelines currently found in our student handbook. Please note the following:
The Core Rules
All students in NSW government schools are expected to:
Attend every school day, unless they are legally excused, be in
be class on time and be prepared to learn.
Maintain a neat appearance, including adherence to the requirements of the school's uniform policy or dress
code.
Behave safely, considerately and responsibly, including during travel to and from school.
Show respect at all times for teachers, other school staff and helpers, which includes following class rules,
speaking courteously and cooperating with instructions and learning activities.
Treat one another with dignity and respect.
Care for property belonging to themselves, the school and others.
Behaviour that infringes safety, such as harassment, bullying and illegal or anti-social behaviour of any
kind, will not be tolerated.

Trial HSC results are currently being prepared for reports and there are some very pleasing indicators. It is not too late
for all students to maximise their scores in the HSC by careful revision. Holiday tutorials will be available upon request,
coordinated by Mr Meyer.
Year 11 students will undertake their yearly exams commencing on 18th September. The results of these exams will be
indicators for HSC courses to be undertaken in 2007. It is disappointing that some students have incurred an 'N Award',
which may prevent progress to Year 12.
