Last week it was my pleasure to be at Smithfield R.S.L. Club to witness an   EMAIL
Evening of Dance. Westfields Sports dance students presented the most spectacular   info@westfieldsports.nsw.edu.au
performance evening that I have ever seen. The very enthusiastic response of the
capacity audience said it all - wow. Congratulations to Ms Holden, Ms Hall, Mrs   Website
Dance-Wilson and Mrs Perre.   www.westfieldsports.nsw.edu.au

Applications for places at Westfields Sports in 2002 are very strong and to
date over 1000 applicants have sought places. There is still a concern at the number   21-11-2001
of people who are attempting to use false addresses to gain entry to our school.   Year 12 Formal

Thank you to the more than 250 parents who attended the September meeting
of the Parents and Citizens Association to hear about the plans for the refurbishment of
Westfields Sports. The Director of Properties for the Department of Education and   28-11-2001
Training (Phillip Peace) was overwhelmed by the response and outlined the $4.3   P & C Meeting
million plans.

There was an enthusiastic response to the plans and special thanks must go
to our local member of Parliament - Mr Joe Tripodi - for his great support. This program   05-12-2001
will follow the completion of the school gymnastics hall, weight room and school shop,   School
next April.   Presentation

Students have just returned from a very successful cricket tour of New Zealand
and an equally successful soccer tour of Queensland. Unfortunately, world events
have led to the postponement of visits by Japanese schools until next year. Currently
25 Danish students are visiting Westfields and our thanks go to the billeting families.   13-12-2001

undertake a review of a school and I will be away this week on this duty. Further I
have been invited to present a paper at an international confrence in Denmark and I
may be attending for the first two weeks in November. I am still investigating this
invitation.

Congratulations to the Student Representative Council members who raised
over $1300.00 for Legacy - a very special Australian charity. Well Done.
