             The remainder of this term represents a valuable time to work towards academic and   Hamilton Road

               To facilitate the building program, five additional demountables will be moved on site   Calendar
 just for 2004. Four will be located with the existing demountables while the fifth will be located    
 on the oval, adjacent located to the Performing Arts building.   4-6/9/03
  Athletics
              There has been a great deal of student and staff absence from sickness. Please seek   (NSWCHS)
medical attention where appropriate. Supported by the Parents & Citizens Association, the   State
school is providing a trained First Aid Officer in the Medical Centre from 9.00am – 3.00pm each   Carnival
week -day. Parents will be able to collect an injured child from this centre. Mrs Thomas is our    
First Aid Officer.   5/9/03
  Girls
            Two very special visitors to our school last week were senior Executive members of   Soccer
 the John Edmonson V.C Memorial Club of Liverpool who came to present a cheque for $4,000    (NSWCHS)
to the Westfields Athletics Club. This generosity is greatly appreciated. The Club has indicated   State Knockout
that it would be looking at further support over the next ten years.   Finals
   
            A special visitor last week was former student and current Parramatta Eels first grade   8/09/2003
player,  Chris Armit. Chris was the guest speaker at the Year 7 Assembly. He spoke about his   Yrs 7-8
aspirations and set backs and the value of setting oneself high expectations of effort and   Music Enrichment
 achievement.   Concert
   
            Applications for 2004 have been flooding in and for the fifth year in a row, will exceed   15-26/9/03
 1,000. Local and sports applications are equally strong. This demand is the reason for our not   Year 11
 being able to offer out-of-area places at Westfields Sports for the past ten years.   Yearly

          Please keep in contact with your child’s Year Adviser if you would like to give us    
 information or further support is required. Ask your daughter or son about their progress in our   22-26/9/03

  Exam
          Two members of our school community are getting excited about their coming visit to   Assessment
Japan. The Kasukabe Scholarship recipients, Ms Zanet and Sean Ireland, will be the guests of   Week
 Kasukabe High School in the October school holidays. Have a great time!
