From the Principal's Desk
Please be careful and considerate when dropping students off or picking them up from school. Traffic and parking regulations
must be followed – for the safety of everyone. Highway patrol and council rangers are regularly patrolling the area. Last
week 22 infringement notices were issued to parents – each at a cost of $175. Again, please follow the rules for the sake
of our children’s safety.
Staff are being trained in Anaphylaxis and Severe Allergy Awareness. Please ensure that you inform me of any problem that
affects your child in this regard.
Parent-Teacher evenings are coming up and it is important to take this opportunity to talk to your child’s teachers about
progress, difficulties and future subject selection.
• Years 10, 11, 12 Parent-Teacher and Yr 11 (2007) Subject Selection Evening Tuesday 20/6/06
• Years 7, 8, 9 Parent-Teacher and Year 9 (2007) Subject Selection Evening Tuesday 27/6/06
Ask your daughter or son to book times for you with each of their teachers.
Westfields Sports has been allocated a third Deputy Principal because student numbers exceeded 1600, making us the second-
largest public school in NSW. The position is currently being advertised for merit selection. I still wonder how some
schools with 300-400 students can be allocated three Deputy Principals.
A special thank you to the Student Representative Council, students and staff who participated in the very successful
Shave/Colour for a Cure – funds were raised for a very worthy cause.
Congratulations to the students who participated so successfully in the Australian Gymnastics Championships.
Good luck to Michael, Jason and Harry at the World Cup.
